Crooner - John Vincent

John Vincent - our crooner, has been performing at Ditka's, doing Sinatra impressions and wowing fans at Wrigley Field with his National Anthem. This year he not only got to sing, he got a ring! Vincent, who has been singing at Wrigley since 2003, performed the anthem at four of eight playoff games at the Friendly Confines last year -- Game 2 of the Division Series, Games 1 and 6 of the National League Championship Series and Game 4 of the World Series. The Chicago Cubs honored Vincent with a World Series Championship ring!

John Vincent makes it look easy, even in front of 40,000 fans at Wrigley Field and millions more watching on television. But he has no formal training as a singer, and 15 years ago h was working as an accounting recruiter and singing only for his family.

"My sister goes, 'Johnny, you sound like Sinatra when you're singing in the car, why don't you try it? How am I going to do that? I'm 29 years old, what am I going to do? So I sent out cassettes back then," Vincent said.

One of those cassettes went to Mike Ditka and his wife, who hired them on the spot to sing at their namesake restaurant.

"When I first started singing I only knew six songs! I was singing the same six songs over and over again. It drove people crazy! The waitstaff hated me! People were like, 'Do you know any more songs?' I'm like, 'Nope!'" he said
.

Artist - Katherine Gressel

Katherine will be capturing our 50th Anniversary live as it happens on canvas! Watch as she creates a living piece of art through the night. This ASA Chicago masterpiece will be auctioned off at the end of the evening!

Award-winning painter Katherine Gressel travels worldwide to weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, birthday parties, family reunions, and corporate events, and captures the action in a live painting. Past events have ranged from intimate family picnics to elaborate celebrity weddings. Each painting serves as both entertainment for guests and a lasting memento of your special day.

Katherine strives to capture the energy and emotion of the happiest day of your life in a dynamic, impressionistic composition. She spotlights a special moment--a dance, vow exchange, speech, etc--between two or more key people while preserving the looseness and freshness of live action painting in the background and supporting characters. Katherine also views each painting as a collaboration, as she takes care to incorporate the colors, decor details, and special guests that make your wedding unique.
